Dewes Street: Sanitary Sewer Replacement On-Going. Topp Lane: Paving to be Performed

Dewes Street

·         Removed existing concrete pavement in areas work was performed.

Work Anticipated to be performed, July 23rd to July 27th
·         Continue with sanitary sewer main line replacement working west from Spruce Street.

Heavy construction has started along Dewes Street. It is anticipated construction will be on-going through the end of October. There will be several inconveniences that you will experience during construction including travel delays and dust. We will be everything possible to minimize any inconveniences to the greatest extent possible.  Thank you in advance for your patience and understanding.

Topp Lane

Work Performed:
·         Completed installation of concrete driveways and curb & gutter
·         Excavated roadway
·         Installed new aggregate base course
·         Performed repairs to aggregate base course as needed.
·         Fine graded existing base course
·         Prepared for asphalt paving

Work Anticipated to be performed, July 23rd to July 27th
·         Complete concrete sidewalk removal and replacement
·         Pave first layers of asphalt pavement
·         Rough grade landscape
·         Installation of topsoil
·         Pave asphalt driveways.

Paving the first layers of asphalt pavement is scheduled for early next week, Monday or Tuesday.  Once this work is completed, a smooth driving surface will be provided and the amount of dust will be greatly reduced. During the paving day, traveling along Topp Lane will be extremely difficult due the amount of construction equipment and delivery of materials.  It is anticipated Topp Lane at Waukegan Road will be impassible; therefore, we would request you utilize Hollywood Avenue when needed and limit your trips along Topp Lane to the greatest extent possible.

Once the asphalt pavement is installed, the contractor will work on rough grading and installing topsoil in the disturbed areas of the parkways.  Sod will not be installed under early fall in hopes of more favorable growing conditions. The installation of topsoil will make the site appear more organized and completed.

Thanks again for all your patience as the major construction work is nearing an end.
